What if.......?

I always wonder how long something is when people say it is long.It takes a long time. It will not be long.... Subjectivity is one of the biggest causes of dispute in the world in my opinion.

What if everything was objective, tangible and fixed as well as Calculated. What if we had no opinion in this world but everything was what it is or what it is not. What if our feeling and opinion never existed.

If you could not say "I THINK...." or "in my opinion....". What if everything was as 1 + 1?

The world would have been..... easier? I don't know but that is what I am thinking about right now.

Well if the world was like I just asked.... I wouldn't be thinking neither.

mixedfeelings

Is it just me or it is just annoying to have the feeling that you can do more than you do? I have unfortunately never been unemployed. I worked after my studies in the university as a teaching assistant and some days after school closed, I got a job which i did till i travelled outside Ghana.

Outside Ghana have i been unemployed almost all the time. A little over a year. it is both annoying and sad. Sometimes i wonder if it could the best decision i made. But i am not a mourner so i just have to carry on. Fight on. Believe that i can it.

It is not easy. It is very hard but i kno it will go well in the end.

Back in Business

I decided not to write again but i changed my mind. I want to express my disgust at how young people like myself and others in our beloved country, Ghana are treated. I have said at many different platforms that the institutions in out country do not work. Many young people who live in this same system complain about the same thing but nobody takes notice. Not politicians, not the media. everybody believe it is not so until ......?????

Nobody care what we say as young citizens of Ghana unless we put on party colour and join the older folk to throw dust in the eyes of the citizens. Then they listen! But is that the kind of nation we want to build? One in which a person can comment og give an opinion on issues only when one puts on a particular political party colour? Dr. Aning of Kofi Annan Peace Keeping Training Centre claims the security system is not functioning.

As a security expert is he noticing that today or is it just an opportune time to say it? Which institution in Ghana can he say with confidence is functioning properly apart from the institution of "Bribbery and Corruption". He might get listened to because he is an "expert". That is what we all have to be then. Experts! Then we will get some attention when we speak outside the political platform.

Some of the things we complain about to politicians do not get noticed because we do not have expert attached to our names. Say i repeat myself by talking about filth and my conversation with one former deputy minister of trade whiles he was still in office. He thought i was crazy. But i knew that approach i proposed would help but where did it get? Nowhere! Because i am no expert. I was just an overzealous university undergraduate who loves his country. And that is a sin!

I will have to comeback to this topic some other time. For now i have to go and study to become an expert before YOU will take me serious.

Part II

These are a few things you will hear before you even dare to enter Norway; the people are so unfriendly and closed up. They never open up to strangers! Well I think I have a different opinion to that. You don't need to have people surround you and pretend to be your friend whiles they are not. I think they would rather be close to you and stick with you. That is what I have witnessed so far. But they are nice. You walk in the streets and meet someone. He/She smiles to you without saying a word. That is good enough for me.

How many people smile at you in the streets of Accra or Tema when they don't know you? I was walking in the street two days today and a small boy sitting on a bike behind the mum just goes Hallo!! It isn't my first and I know it will not be my last. They like people in their own way and that is admirable.

Another thing that makes it nice is the fact that when you meet anybody who is black skin they actually stop and say hi to you. Somalis, Ethiopians, Congolese, Nigerians, Ghanaians whoever, so long as you are black they talk to you. That is kind of nice. It is amazing how they are able to recognise you the next time they see you.

I went for this very interest festival in a town nearby called Verdal, I was busy enjoying the seemingly 'strange culture' i was seeing! Thousands of people dressed in funny customes just for fun and celebrations and hundreds from far and near standing by to watch. I only saw people sing and having fun. I did same!.....don't even think about that.... me joining in? IMPOSSICAN'T.I actually had fun watching.

Last sunday I was at the international church here in Levanger and after church I was interacting with the people who came and then one lady told me she saw me at the festival. I was kind of shock but it was me she saw coz she said was was pushing a baby trolley and that was true.

You really cannot hide in this community. They will find you. I will have to end here and concentrate ON some things i have to get done but I will tell you something else which we take forgranted in Ghana but is of relevance here next time...........

NORGE EXPERIENCE PART 1

This is going to be the first blog I have written since I left the shores of Ghana. It was a nice experience from Ghana to Norway through Holland. I loved what I saw on my way from Holland to Norway. Nature at its best! Nice mountains with snow covering it. It was a beautiful scene.

It is more beautiful on the ground in fact than up there. Ironic you see? Most countries are nicer when viewed from the top but that is not the same for Norway. It is much beautiful from down here. Beautiful undisturbed environment. You know I actually saw a fox and a moose!

What fascinates me most was the fact that I had a serious argument with my girlfriend without evidence, I lost big time. I argued that when she picked me from the airport at about 5pm and we drove 35minutes to the house, eat the food she made upon our getting home, I slept at 6pm.

Well don’t blame me for being damn! Here is Koo Blacky who sees day light till 6pm and it is all dark in Norway where at 1am, during this time sometimes there is still day light. Stupidly, I argued that it was six when I went to bed but actually it was pass 8pm.

Travel and see! It got me right there and then. I guess I shouldn’t be recounting all that I have seen so I will just tell you about a special day I witnessed, 17th May. My Gf kept fussing about us going on a parade on 17th May. I didn’t want to go but everybody I visited insisted I go so I gave it a try and man! almost all the 15,000 inhabitants of this town where in the streets. It is really national day for them. Everybody join in the street parade everywhere in the country they had the march. It was very interesting.

I will just end here and tell you a bit of my experience with the people in my subsequent blogs.
